Online retailer Amazon has begun taking orders for Microsoft's long-delayed new operating system, Windows Vista.
The US branch of Amazon is offering a number of different full-price versions of Vista, as well as upgrades from the widely-used current system, Windows XP.

And they are saying Windows is cheap!

As you might have noticed, HP is conducting a "road show" in Riyadh on Linux and Open Source, which I posted about earlier. Thank you HP for your good intentions.

The bad thing is, their E-mail mentioned that it will be on the 5th of September
Date: 5th September, 2006
and the same was the message we received after the online registration. Now if you go to HP's online web site, you will see the event listed to be on the 6th!

I received this E-mail from HP last week;

Dear Valued Customer,

Do you sometimes wonder about how easy or complicated it really is to deploy open source technology in the enterprise? Are you tempted by the well-documented cost savings, increased flexibility, and freedom associated with Linux and open source environments but perhaps concerned with potential risks of deployment?

As you can see, my blog is having some encoding issue due to database upgrade by the hosting company. I will be working on that to fix it in my freetime, I really had a lot to say and more to post but was unluck with the server upgrade. The weired thing though is that I have other blogs on the same server and they were not b0rked what so ever, the only difference is that they are using wordpress!

Anyhow, will see how things go from here and let's get things rolling now...
